Cyanotype on vintage cloth diaper and pins

The Court's Opinion on Dobb's vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization has taken American women back to the early 70's. In those days affluent mothers might have been able to afford disposable diapers but a mother who didn't have means, faced daily chores of washing and drying soiled cloth diapers.

Using the cyanotype process I have transferred four pages of the Court's Opinion on a vintage cloth diaper as a statement of dissent against the retrograde, misogynistic view on women's reproductive rights that this Opinion expresses. The piece is also a stark reminder that limiting legal access to abortion will disproportionately affect poor and marginalized women, especially black women and women of color.
